About 

NSCV C5A specifies requirements for the design, construction and installation of machinery in vessels. 

This includes, but is not limited to: 

  • internal combustion engines 
  • propulsion systems 
  • fuel systems 
  • fluid systems 
  • steering systems 
  • ancillary systems 

This subsection applies to all domestic commercial vessels. It applies differently to vessels less than 35 m in measured length to those of at least 35 m. See Clause 1.2 for details.
