Kokusai Kakoh company has issued a safety recall for its Rocket Parachute Flares KP-16. This is due to performance concerns related to altitude and burning time when fired.

Affected products
The recall applies to flares manufactured between February 2021 and July 2024.
Free replacement
Kokusai Kakoh is offering a free replacement with Comet Red Parachute Signal Rockets (manufactured by WesCom Signal & Rescue) outside of Japan.
What you should do
- Check if you have KP-16 flares manufactured between February 2021 and July 2024.
- Contact your nearest Comet distributor for a free replacement with Comet Red Parachute Signal Rockets.
- Find a Comet distributor.
No risk of spontaneous combustion has been identified under normal storage conditions. However, if you have these flares, you should replace them as soon as you can.
