We want your feedback on proposed changes to Marine Order 91 (Marine pollution prevention – oil) 2014 (MO91). MO91 sets out requirements to prevent oil pollution from vessels.

The proposed changes include:

  • allowing for electronic record books to be used in place of hardcopy records for the Oil Record Book  
  • providing for the exemption of unmanned non-self-propelled (UNSP) barges from certain survey and certification requirements relating to the International Oil Pollution Prevention (IOPP) Certificate
  • ensuring all references to MARPOL Annex I within MO91 are correct following updates to MARPOL Annex I.

 Consultation on MO91 is now open. We invite you to provide your feedback until 16 September 2024.
