Figure 1 is a bar graph showing the number of MLC complaints for the following years

  • 2019 - the number of complaints was 148
  • 2020 - the number of complaints was 320
  • 2021 - the number of complaints was 279
  • 2022 - the number of complaints was 261
  • 2023 - the number of complaints was 214

The graph also shows the rolling 5 year average as per the following

  • In 2020, the average figure was 185.4
  • In 2021, the average figure was 214.2
  • In 2022, the average figure was 237.4
  • In 2023, the average figure was 244.4

Figure 2

Figure 2 is a bar graph showing the number of deficiencies issued verses the number of Vessels detained. 
The statistics shows on the graph are as follows:

  • In 2019, there were 29 deficiencies issued and 7 vessels detained
  • In 2020, there were 79 deficiencies issued and 16 vessels detained
  • In 2021, there were 52 deficiencies issued and 7 vessels detained
  • In 2022, there were 51 deficiencies issued and 5 vessels detained
  • In 2023, there were 24 deficiencies issued and 5 vessels detained
