Marine order 503—Certificates of survey—national law

Marine order 503 includes:

• application requirements for determinations and approvals mentioned in the Marine surveyors accreditation guidance manual 
• application requirements for equivalent means of compliance
• application requirements for a certificate of survey
• requirements for renewing, varying, suspending and revoking a certificate of survey
• survey, design, construction and equipment standards that apply to existing, transitional and new vessels 
• provisions on who can survey a domestic commercial vessel
• criteria which must be met for AMSA to issue or renew a certificate of survey
• conditions on a certificate of survey.

Any mention of Marine Order 501 (Administration — national law) 2013 in this Marine Order should be taken to mean Marine Order 501 (Administration — national law) 2023, in line with the updated legislation.
