Marine order 502 includes:

• application requirements for a unique identifier
• criteria which must be met for AMSA to issue a unique identifier
• display requirements for your unique identifier
• situations where the removal or alteration of a unique identifier is permitted
• requirements about when you need to notify AMSA of the transfer, sinking, scrapping, or ceasing operation of your vessel.
