We have worked with the New South Wales Parks and Wildlife Service, and Bundjalung of Byron Bay (Arakwal) to develop a heritage management plan to protect and manage Cape Byron Lighthouse.

About the Heritage Management Plan

Cape Byron Lighthouse was established in 1901. The lighthouse’s heritage management plan identifies the historical and cultural values and how to protect, conserve, tell and present its story. The plan contains detailed information on the area’s history and cultural significance as well as the condition of structures and other physical elements. This helps outline the current needs of managing and protecting the lightstation, which was included on the Commonwealth Heritage List in 2004 for its cultural significance.
