Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) register

The Privacy (Australian Government Agencies — Governance) APP Code 2017 (APP Code) requires all agencies to conduct a privacy impact assessment for all high risk privacy projects.

A PIA is a systematic assessment of a project that identifies the impact the project might have on the privacy of individuals. It then sets out recommendations for managing, minimising or eliminating that impact.

The Privacy (Australian Government Agencies – Governance) APP Code 2017 (Privacy Code) requires AMSA to maintain a register of completed PIAs.
