Exemption 44—Marine Safety (Domestic commercial vessels—EIAPP certificate)

The EIAPP Certificate requirements in Marine Order 97 (Marine pollution prevention–air pollution) 2022 still apply.

You do not need to apply for this exemption.

What this exemption will allow you to do

This exemption applies to domestic commercial vessels that are fitted with a marine diesel engine with propulsion power >130 kW.

The exemption alleviates the requirements under 9(2)(c) of Marine Order 503 for a DCV to hold an EIAPP certificate to be issued with a certificate of survey. The exemption will be repealed when the EIAPP requirements are removed from MO503.

Marine Order 97 (Marine pollution prevention — air pollution) 2022 (Marine Order 97) continues to require an EIAPP certificate and associated technical file for marine diesel engine with propulsion power >130 kW installed on a DCV after 31 December 2022.
