Application for an alternate survey process (form 1854)

Overview

You must use this form to make an application for an alternate survey. An alternate survey is a survey that does not adhere to the prescribed standards in Section 32 of the National Law.

Marine Order 503 includes a power that permits AMSA to approve alternate forms of survey. This power allows AMSA to approve specific survey processes, on a case-by-case basis.

Note: An alternate survey conducted without AMSA's approval, is a breach of a surveyor’s conditions of accreditation.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for an alternate survey process, complete form AMSA 1854 and attach all relevant supporting calculations or documents.

Please note, applications cannot be processed without adequate detail being provided. Insufficient detail will slow down the processing of an application.
