Spatial data gateway

We provide a range of geographic information as digital maps and spatial data sets. This visual geographic data is used to support search and rescue, pollution response, vessel tracking, and navigation in Australian waters. Some data access may require you to pay a fee.

Digital data

We have a collection of digital data sets available to download. These include location-based data products that can be used to support safety activities in the marine environment. These products are suitable for use in geographic information systems. Data sets are free but require you to sign a licence agreement.

Map products

We provide a series of regularly updated maps for download. Our maps are suitable for printing, including in reports and presentations, or using as educational material. You are required to sign a free licence agreement.

Historical vessel tracking data

You can search the portal for historic terrestrial vessel tracking data. Data is used for safety and protection of the maritime environment. Data is available for download and suitable for use within a geographic information system. Data is subject to a free licence agreement.

Enquiries

Customised spatial data and map products are available on request to our geographic information systems team. Data requests can also include vessel tracking data analysis.
