Perpetual certificates of competency for domestic seafarers

We recognise perpetual certificates of competency under the National Law for Domestic Commercial Vessel Safety.

You do not need to surrender your perpetual certificate if you are issued with a national law certificate.

Restrictions and conditions 

All conditions and restrictions still apply. 

If your certificate does not allow you to operate in a certain state or territory, you will need to apply for a national law issued certificate. 

Western Australia does not recognise perpetual certificates from other states—you will need to apply for a national law issued certificate.
