Under keel clearance management system worked tutorial

The Under Keel Clearance Management (UKCM) system user guide and tutorials contain guides for use of the key functionality of the UKCM system for users to work through at their own pace.

The tutorials cover a range of typical activities in the UKCM system and complement the online user manual and help section, available to registered UKCM system users.

UKCM Fact Sheet

AMSA has produced this UKCM pamphlet at a very basic level to describe the UKCM System in Torres Strait.

Under keel clearance management pilotage plan chartlet

The pilotage plan chartlet provides an overview of Torres Strait and Prince of Wales Channel for use by pilots as a piloting chartlet.

It can assist in providing a small scale view of the area for use during the master/pilot information exchange.

It also depicts the broad UKCM route boundaries and system waypoints.

It is not intended for navigation.

These PDFs provide a graphic, with a table inset, of the coordinates (latitude/longitude) of the UKCM deep and standard (full) route boundaries through Torres Strait.

Under keel clearance management system waypoints

The UKCM wayponts PDF contains the coordinates, in latitude and longitude, of the UKCM system waypoints.

These positions are provided to assist pilots in correlating UKCM system information observed in Transit Planning and Transit Monitoring with their pilotage plan.

Under keel clearance management system pre-defined vessel speeds

The speed profiles document contains pre-defined vessels speed profiles for voyage planning.

These speed profiles are used to pre-populate initial voyage and transit planning inputs, which can then be amended by the user in transit planning if required.

UKCM routes depicting fast, moderate and slow speeds for tankers, bulk carriers and container vessels are provided to enhance users’ awareness of system inputs.
